A: Yes these are perfect lights for your 8-12 year olds. The LED bulb will not heat up like traditional light bulbs and the low-intensity light is perfect for book reading anytime of the day!

The back of the package has a diagram that shows how to open the battery case. There are three tiny screws that hold the cover over the battery case. You’ll need a screwdriver that works on TINY screws. The book light clips nicely to a book, tablet, or laptop and is very flexible, so you can adjust as you like.

The booklight is really disappointing. The on/off switch is so light to the touch that it doesn't stay on properly when in use. spend a bit more and get a better quality book light.
The on/off switch is finicky.

Died quickly
This died pretty quickly on me. I even tried replacing the batteries but the light dimmed out super quickly. I bought a nicer one which is rechargeable and has three light settings and like it better.

The light itself is bright but not harsh.
I picked up the Energizer LED Book Light, and honestly, it’s become one of my favorite little reading accessories. The clip is sturdy enough to attach to books, e-readers, or even my headboard, and the flexible neck makes it super easy to adjust the angle without blinding myself.

Battery didnt work upon purchase
I bought it about 2 months ago and it was not bright was so ever! About a two weeks ago it really started getting worse and I couldn’t see a thing. So why advertise it comes with batteries included when they don’t even work! I thought that’s how bright the light was until I looked at the reviews and realized it was suppose to be wayyy brighter! Had to buy new batteries and it was so hard to unscreen the little screws and on top of that the top battery is loose and it rattles!

Energizer batteries from my experience are AMAZING!! just like the bunny says they keep going and going and going. These are the batteries i prefer to use! And trust me when i say i have used all different kinds of batteries in my 54 years on this earth.

Doesn't last long
This light worked well for reading in bed at night for about 3 months. Then the light became dimmer and I had to hold it right up to the page to be able to see the words. There is no way to charge it and I don’t think the battery is replaceable. I have recently purchased two different reading lights and am now testing them out. I do not recommend this light for long-term use.

Book light helps light up the night!
This Energizer book light does what it’s supposed to. It’s stable enough to stay in position and flexible enough that you can tweak its positioning until you’re satisfied. I’ve been using it for reading before bed, so I don’t disturb anyone with the room lights being on.

There are better ones out there. I bought it, used it for a month and replaced it. Go look for rechargeable ones that dim. And it's too small for larger books. I would skip this and save your money.
