About the Book

In the highly anticipated follow-up to the bestselling phenomenon "Love Does, " Goff takes readers on an entertaining, life-altering journey into the secret of living without fear, care, constraint, or worry.

Book Synopsis

What if we stopped avoiding the difficult people in our lives and committed to simply loving everybody? What happens when we give away love like we're made of it? In Everybody, Always, Bob Goff's joyful New York Times bestselling follow-up to Love Does, you'll discover the secret to living without fear, constraint, or worry.

Bob teaches us that the path toward the outsized, unfettered, liberated existence we all long for is found in one simple truth: love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and without limits.

In Everybody, Always, Bob shows us the simple truths about life that have the power to shift our mindset forever:

  • Jesus uses our blind spots to reveal himself to us
  • It's easy to love kind, lovely, humble people, but you have to tackle fear in order to love people who are difficult
  • What we do with our love will become the conversations we have with God
  • Dark and scary places are filled with beautiful people who need our unconditional love
  • Extravagant love has extraordinary power to change lives, including our own

Driven by Bob's trademark storytelling, this book reveals the wisdom Bob learned--often the hard way--about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible.

Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Everybody, Always reveals how we can do the same.

I am reviewing the first five chapters of the book that I received from the publisher. Bob writes like you’re sitting down with him having a conversation. It’s easy to read, humorous and packed with simple truths that we often over-complicate. This book challenged me to think about the way I love people; not just the nice ones, but the creepy and difficult ones. I had several moments while reading the first few chapters where I was convicted in how I’ve “loved” people. I either avoid them altogether out of fear, or I “love” others with an agenda; both are not loving like Jesus. This thought from Bob was illuminating to me - It’s not up to me to tell others how to live but to tell them who they are and then to leave it up to God to work in their lives. Seems so simple, but oh, how we overcomplicate it! Bob hit the nail on the head in this book and is a must read for everyone who calls themselves a Christ-follower. This book leaves me with a singular goal: to simply love like Jesus loves - Everybody, Always.

Bob Goff is already one of my favorite authors. I read his "Love Does" book a few years ago for the first time. I have since read it many, many times. I have bought other copies to gift to friends and co workers...it looks as though I will be doing the same with this current book, "Everybody Always." I can't really describe Bob Goff to you..both he and his wife Maria, (whom he lovingly calls "Sweet Maria", who wrote her own excellent book) but trust me when I say they are ordinary people doing extraordinary things with their lives and in their community. Bob began changing the world as a lawyer and since then has used his knowledge and expertise, as well as his ever expanding heart for others, to make the change in the world he wants to see. Making these changes right where God places you is just how to start. "Everybody, Always" is another chapter in Bob's journey to make the world a better place every day we're able to. Through stories and thoughts, as well as looking to Jesus' examples as to how to love others well, this book will make you cry, laugh, and move yourself and others towards change. I am already placing my order for a couple copies (I am sure I will order more after that, if history is an indication!) and I suggest you do the same--believe me when I say this is NOT a book you want to miss out on. I loved every minute of the five chapters I previewed and can't wait to snuggle in with this book. *I am reviewing the first five chapters of the book that I received from the publisher. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a favorable review.*
