That’s the black and white of it, and ‘Catching Whimsy’ takes a highlighter to the whole truth. The book’s dedication is written to Bob Goff’s family- “.. and their kids and their kids”. So I read it, pretending to be a kid or grandkid of sorts. How kind of this “Elder”, to lend his curious and hope-filled eyes! sharing stories, rather like our story telling God- that we may be ‘trained up’ in the richly, wonderfully, whimsically good way we should go.

Starting each day with a devotion by Bob is a positive and often numerous way to draw closer to God. Catching Whimsy encourages me to want to look for ways to step out of my daily routine to find fun ways to encounter joy and hope in my life. This devotional would be an awesome present to give or receive!

Inspiring words to get my day going and life on the right trajectory I LOVE this devotional! I knew I would because Bob’s words never disappoint. The topic is super timely with where we are as a country (USA) and the need for these reminders. We need to be open to being strategically whimsical and full of wonder in our daily lives. Becoming more child-like in that way reframes how we see ourselves and those around us and difficult situations we may face. It makes us appreciate The Father more and I believe opens us up to true genuine love, joy, and gratitude. His storytelling is top notch and gets the point across rather quickly with each daily entry to help you set your mind right for the day ahead. I recommend anyone start their 2025 off right with this book!

As a huge, long time fan of Bob Goff, I’m thrilled to have this book available as a daily read of “stories from Bob” to read. For anyone not familiar with the author who holds meetings in Disneyland at Tom Sawyer island and exudes joy, this daily devotional offers story after story to entertain and inspire you to think and then take action in your own life. Years ago I heard Bob say, “you might be the only bible someone ever reads” and while these daily devotions include scripture references, what sticks in my mind after reading each day are the stories and thinking “hey, I might try to do that too!” I plan to buy this book for all of my family members for Christmas this year so they can catch their own whimsy in 2025!!!

Bob Goff has been part of our family life and conversations for years, and this new daily devotional joins that tradition.
