No frame: Misleading product info
Buyer beware: Unlike all of the other reviewers, I actually purchased this product. The "free for my honest review" people, including those who posted pictures, got a different product. They clearly received the entire kit, including the blue frame, making it appear as if that is what you are purchasing here. You are not. You are only purchasing the REFILLS, despite the fact that the product is named "Refillable Air Filter," as in "filter to be filled again," rather than named simply "Refills." Even the product marketing photos are misleading, as they show the frame with instructions on how to use it. Three stars docked for misleading product name and visuals. Disappointed. Please clarify this product by naming it "Refills," Target, to prevent sour customer experiences and establish what shoppers are actually buying.

Great concept, difficult assembly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the idea of this filter in that it is more sustainable than the traditional air filters. I struggled with assembling this though and never quite got the insert to fit into the holder properly- even after reading the instructions several times. I don’t know if it was user error or if I received a defective kit- needless to say, I don’t know that I would purchase this due to the difficulty with putting it together.

It took a couple of minutes to assemble the frame and put the filter, but it's so easy. The filter is a high quality for allergens, bacteria and it really improves the air quality and flow! I swapped it out just as I was turning on the furnace and it has worked great so far. Haven’t gotten to the point where I have had to clean out but plan to do so after the holidays. My HVAC unit requires large filters and I usually keep several on hand, so they take up a lot of space to store. But this is so convenient because I can just open the filter cage, insert the new filter, and the filter expands to fit the cage. Then I insert the filter cage back into my unit like any other filter. The performance of the filter is excellent, as can be expected for Filtrete. This is also going to save me money because the replacement filters are reasonably priced, and cut down on so much waste and space used. The filter is quiet and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it.

Eco-friendly Filter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] **I received this product for free, in exchange for my honest review** First impressions were that the product itself was heavy, but once I opened the box, I loved how little waste there would be upon use. There is a reusable plastic frame, which is on the “heavier” side. But the portion that becomes the filter itself is so much less than a traditional filter…resulting in a lot less waste. The product I received had the frame and two of the refillable filters. Installation of the filter was easy and the box had clear instructions. I would absolutely purchase this going forward and recommend it to others. It functions as a normal filter, but excess waste is eliminated.
