Cliched with repetitive details!
Finding You is a contemporary romance by Amy Clipston. I thought Finding You lacked depth, and the plot was predictable. Darcy behaved in an uncharacteristic manner. One minute she is grieving the loss of her fiancé from a couple years prior (sad, crying) and seconds later she is ogling the garage mechanic. This type of behavior is throughout the story. I want to know how Darcy can be grief stricken and depressed, but, at the same time, she cannot stop thinking about the hunky and helpful Carter. The same details are repeated over and over throughout the book. The story focuses on Darcy’s search for her biological parents and romance. Darcy and Carter manage to avoid speaking about important issues (I am not a fan of the miscommunication trope). I found it frustrating (I wanted to lock the pair in a small room until they sorted things out). Finding You is too long (352 pages). I found myself skimming over the repetitive sections to reach the end. If I had not seen the author’s name on the cover, I would not believe it was written by her. I was surprised that there were no Christian elements in the story (considering the publisher and author). While I enjoy Amy Clipston’s Amish stories, Finding You fell flat for me.
