Flesh Forest is set after the events of earlier books in the Primeval Ones universe and is best read in publication order for the full narrative experience. However, this installment was also written to function as an entry point for new readers.

While it lightly references prior events and established lore, the story follows a new cast of characters encountering the horror for the first time. Readers who begin here may encounter spoilers for earlier books but can still enjoy this novel as a standalone body-horror experience before potentially exploring the rest of the series.
