We've always eaten French's mustard...until now. The bottle we recently purchased tastes awful. It tastes like plastic. The color is darker than it should be. I'm afraid to buy another bottle.

This mustard brand has been our family favorite for years but this bottle tasted like it had chlorine in it. We were very disappointed & I hope it isn't a recipe change but rather an accidental contamination.

Cannot tolerate Frenches after 60 years because I instantly taste Chlorine; possibly from changing the water source or God knows what you're trying to kill in the manufacturing facility. All signs point to problems and I'll search for a better brand/type of mustard. I know you must chemically test & taste your product so something has gone wrong and I suspect, BEAN COUNTERS. Just as KNUDSEN destroyed the *creamy* texture of their cottage cheese in 2010-11, a tolerable replacement will pop up.

I've loved your mustard my whole life and could always tell if something else was in my food. Something has changed in your recipe. It has a much stronger flavor now and I hate it. I've tried several bottles.

My family has used Frenches Classic Mustard for as long as I can remember and I'm 50 yrs old so that's a long time. Now all of a sudden it has a terrible Chemical flavor. We threw a brand new bottle away hoping it was just a fluke or a bad batch. Then we bought a 2-pack from a different store thinking surely they would be fine.
NOPE....there's 2 more bottles of terrible tasting mustard. With the high costs, that you manufacturers are charging for food these days, we can't afford to waste money on bad products...certainly not when your condiment ruins an entire meal of food.
My family will have to start looking at Heinz or Plochman's mustard for the future.

Just opened a new 14oz bottle and it tasted like chemicals. Horrible taste. Cooked some really good burgers and everyone put mustard on them and no one could eat them. It was so bad. Hopefully French's quality control can figure out what the problem is and correct it.

I love mustard and have never purchased any that tasted bad. I bought a bottle of French's Yellow Mustard yesterday and it has a distinct plasticy taste. Maybe something wrong with this batch - we won't use it because it tastes bad, and not knowing why it could be harmful to eat.

My kids were complaining the mustard was bad so I had another small bottle after checking it they are correct it has this bad plastic smell and taste. I opened a small bottle of drenches I had in the cabinet and it tasted fine. So definitely something was wrong with it.

Just bought a brand new bottle of French's mustard today. We opened it for supper tonight. It tastes terrible, like chemicals or plastic. Smells like plastic or chemicals as well. We had another small bottle of French's mustard to compare to. The new bottle is definitely off! The older bottle tastes great and this new one is nasty!

We just had a cookout last night, so of course the French's mustard was on the table. The mustard was a newly opened bottle, and my son immediately commented, "This tastes funny!" I smelled inside the bottle, and I could smell a plastic-y / chemical type smell. So I assumed that's exactly what he was tasting. It was like the taste of the mustard was what the bottle was made from. It was one of the 40% more bottles with more mustard in it.

I opened a bottle of mustard and it tasted like plastic. Opened a second bottle and it didn't taste the same! The plastic taste was very off putting. I think the store brand was better last time.
