Frenzy - by Percival Everett (Paperback)

Book Synopsis

Percival Everett, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of James, takes readers inside the world of Greek god Dionysos and his quest for satiation in this re-issue of Frenzy.

In Ancient Greece, the demi-God Dionysos is infamous for his penchant for ecstasy and excess. And yet he is plagued by the irony of never being able to feel full satisfaction. And so, with the help of his faithful mortal companion, Vlepo, Dionysos enters the consciousness of other beings to better understand their world and sample what he has been missing. But despite all the two experience, it's never enough for Dionysos, whose ceaseless curiosity only serves to make his requests to Vlepo increasingly bizarre. A brilliant, comic tale that interweaves myths and legend, Frenzy, first published in 1997, is a fresh reimagining of a larger-than-life figure in a world with shocking parallels to our own.
