Q: What Frida supplies in this kit would I need to buy extra of to get me through a 'typical' postpartum recovery? E.g., there are 4 disposable underwear, 4 Maxi Pads and 24 Perineal Liners. Would you typically change the liner more often than the pad?
submitted by NewMom1 - 6 years ago
A: Great Question! We suggest purchasing more underwear and Instant Ice Packs to get you through the first two-weeks (:

None of the ice packs got cold and the witch hazel packs were dry with BOTH of the kits I purchased.

Great for postpartum
It is so helpful to have this for postpartum. The briefs are specially good, much more supportive than the ones provided at the hospital.

Not my favorite
I bought these based on the advice from a friend, and I don’t really like them. I have nicked babies fingertips several times, mostly due to the curvature of the blades. The ability to see the nail is nice, but it doesn’t help when the curvature of the blades makes it tough to actually clip the nail in one fell swoop. We’re going to try the electric nail trimmers instead.

Poor Quality
I wish the kit had worked better for me but the quality was significantly worse than the things that I received for "free" from the hospital. The peri bottle leaks like crazy and there is no way to lock the nozzle in place so it just sprays around when using, the simple one from the hospital works way better. The disposable underwear has a very strong chemical smell and was pretty uncomfortable compared to the disposable underwear I received at the hospital. The ice packs/pads from the hospital were significantly better at cooling and absorbing as well. I ended up not using most of what was in the kit.

Everything you need
going to a baby shower soon and the peri healing foam was on the registry so I decided to get this kit that had some extras as well. Most of the reviews tend to love this kit so I’m hoping she will too!!

Confortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a sore sore of ovarian cancer, and this kit was my best ally, especially when you think everything will surpass your underwear, it is comfortable and easy to wear I recommend it to closed eyes

undies are not good
I liked everything in this kit but the undies. They are stiff and uncomfortable. They do not have absorbent padding but if you try to place a pad in them, it will shred when you try to pull the pad out.

This is the only product i bought from this overrated brand that was not a rip off. It does break very easily, but it’s also easy to repair. I like it.

The best way to tackle those claws
Obsessed with these. My babe is 7 months and I still use these/ have been using them since birth. So gentle and easy to use on those little claws.

Fantastic product - better than what they give you in the hospital recovery kits
I was gifted this by a family member and it was the best gift I could have received for postpartum recovery. It had everything you needed - even some things that the hospital didn’t offer in their postpartum kit. The ice pads and peri bottle were my favorite items. Loved that the peri bottle was angled (was given just a basic squirt bottle at the hospital and it didn’t work nearly as well as this one). I do wish that it came with more of the ice pads, but in hindsight it was nice just to be able to try some before buying a full box to make sure they worked for me. I ended up purchasing more since they worked like a charm especially when paired with Tucks pads and the healing foam. I overlooked this item originally due to the price, but was glad that I ended up putting it on my registry. I definitely recommend getting this for yourself or for a family member or friend that is expecting because it’s well worth it for the price.

Not every item is for everyone
I would reccommend the underwear, the peri bottle, and the foam. However, some of the postpartum gear I received at the hospital was better or of equal effectiveness. This is a good investment if you plan to have more than one baby because you'll know what works and what doesn't for you personally the second time around.
