Pen smells really bad.
We used to buy these all the time for our grandkids and our little niece, but we noticed recently. The pen smells really bad and has like an alcohol/chemical sent to it. It was very strong and even the kids noticed it. They didn’t want to use these books anymore. I have a call into the manufacturer to ask about that. I’m really sad because these were really great books to use and I don’t know what changed with the pens.

Toddler loves these but crayola’s color wonder mess free are much better value imo. The marker for imagine ink runs out very fast. Convenient for trips but pricey.

Not enough simple coloring pages
My kid is frozen obsessed, so I scooped this up for restaurant entertainment. There was only one actual coloring page; the rest were activity pages. I think this is subjective. If your kid prefers the activity pages, this would be a win for you, but mine just likes to see the colors of the coloring pages.
