According to the book's description, he "has spent 46 years searching for the best ways to defend the Bible and the Christian faith. Starting out as a law student, he switched exclusively to study Christian Apologetics, graduating with an M.A. in 1990. He has presented on the reliability of the Bible, prophecy, and the problem of evil at public libraries, State University of New York, local churches, the YMCA, and conferences like Excel for teenagers and Campus Ambassador for college students. Dr. Sherman has helped families, couples, and adults as a clinical psychologist since 1999."

This is a fine, five-star book. Highly recommended, and a huge bargain for the 99-cent Amazon Kindle edition. It is very strong on setting forth Bible prophecies, especially in the opening chapters of the book, where he explains in detail the prophecies that predict Christ and the evidence for them. It is very strong in evangelistic presentation, especially in the last part of the book. It is very strong in presenting the prophecies on the future second coming of Christ too, though it should be noted that Sherman advocates for a dispensational premillennial interpretation (thus some may dispute some of the futuristic exegetical points in this area).

"I agree with the apologetics thrust of your book," John Warwick Montgomery (1931-2024) said in endorsing God Knew. Montgomery, a well-known Christian scholar/attorney/clergyman and author of dozens of books on a myriad of subjects, was the founding Dean of the Simon Greenleaf School of Law (now Trinity Law School, affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, still based in Southern California) where Sherman studied. (Note: full disclosure, I met Perry there in 1981, and Perry is a friend of mine, though I hadn't been in touch with him in years. I received an M.A. in Christian Apologetics at Simon Greenleaf in 1982, a degree that Sherman earned in 1990. Perry also got a Certificate from the International Institute of Human Rights from the adjunct program in Strasbourg, France, as I did as well. However, I like this great book and would have even if I had no idea who Perry Sherman is.

God Knew has MANY significant documentation notes. Perhaps the most impressive chapter in that regard is "The Crazy Odds Against Jesus Fulfilling Just Thirteen Prophecies by Chance." It describes the NUMEROUS miraculous Bible prophecies concerning Christ that came true.

On the cover of the book, the Hebrew on the scroll is from Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."By all means, consider getting this book. Christian believers will be transformed and maybe further enlightened, and others may be transformed as Perry was, as he himself described in his testimony. As mentioned, the least expensive option is an Amazon Kindle digital edition, but a paperback copy is also reasonable at $12.99. And Perry has a website: perrysherman.com. - David Becker, Substack
