Beautiful story!
This was such a sweet and wonderful story! My first book by this author, and I fully admit that I only grabbed it because it mentioned the Hudson Valley, which is where I was born and raised. I LOVE reading books about my hometown & surrounding areas, so being back in Beacon was a super fun trip for this Kingston-raised girl! Joy is 89 years old and has always been “Good Joy,” following the rules, never falling out of line, and always with a smile on her face, not bothering anyone with her feelings or her wants. When she learns that her best friend of over 80 years, Hazel, is dying, she decides to try out "Bad Joy," for a while, breaking all the rules... All to try and bring some fun and joy into the last bit of time she has with her polar opposite best friend, who lived her life freely, and boy does she have fun doing it! I was amazed at how much I could relate to “Good Joy,” and watching her come into her own and find her way was such a beautiful journey. A heartwarming story of friendship, love, and the choices we make and how they impact our lives. Beautiful story!

Heartwarming!
t’s engaging although predictable -- but it’s okay. You just want the best for Joy, a character who is easy to like. Much is about grief but It leaves you with a good feeling.
