Book Synopsis
Something HUGE is coming... set in a world where humans and giants live in uneasy peace, two detectives from either side of the divide must work together to solve a bizarre crime! Perfect for fans of fantasy detective fiction, it's Chinatown meets Roald Dahl's The BFG, in an all-new comic from superstar team of writer Adam Rose and artist Magenta King! Something huge is coming! When A STRING OF MURDERS and disappearances sweep the UNITED STATES, a human and a giant WITH SIZABLE DETECTIVE SKILLS are on the case! After a race of giants emerged from deep sleep beneath the earth, a bloody conflict ensued in what became known as THE OMEGA EVENT. Eventually, a treaty is resolved and state of Brobdingnag is created, allowing humans and giants to co-exist harmoniously. Yet tragedy threatens to shatter the peace, and an unlikely partnership is formed between Detectives Tamaki and GYANT. As the pair attempt to stop the criminal AT LARGE, they find themselves involved in a mystery BIGGER than either could imagine. Written by Adam Rose (Corollary) and illustrated by Magenta King (Jenny Zero) this all-new story is a neo-noir fantasy with hard-boiled giants and grizzled cops, as these most unlikely partners must work together to solve a convoluted mystery, endorsed by Patton Oswalt!Review Quotes
"It's fantastic! Noir, homicide and giants. A weird mash-up that absolutely works. Go grab it!!!" Patton Oswalt "Rose and King devour detective and giant lore like Cronos himself, delivering a fresh, modern spin. Mythology often uses giants to explore our place in the world, Huge Detective elevates both genres to new heights." - Michael Oeming, co creator of Powers "Enormously clever and as high as high-concept gets, this is crime fiction writ large." Charles Ardai, (Gun Honey) "Huge Detective takes a wild premise and then goes places with it." Alien Nation at Brobdingnagian scale." - Alex Paknadel (The Sentinels, Red Goblin, X-Men) "Huge Detective is the rare read that's completely surprising and new. If you're looking for a book where you'll genuinely have no idea what's coming page to page, strap in. This is the comic for you." Jeremy Whitley (Sea of Thieves, Princeless) "Adam Rose's Huge Detective delivers us into a shockingly original world where what we know isn't real is depicted with such clarity and emotional honestly that it will grow from your imagination to become reality. Groundbreaking!" JC Chandor (Margin Call, All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year) "Human kaijus, an unsolved murder, and a delusional inmate-- all rolled together in Rose and King's intriguing story. I'm itching for the next issue to see how they all come together!"
