About the Author



Íris Santos is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Administration and Business, Tampere University, Finland and a visiting assistant professor at the Institute of Education, University of Lisbon, Portugal. Her research interests are focused on education policymaking, international organisations and the global governance of education, and sustainable development from a critical perspective.

Elias Pekkola is a vice-dean for education and associate professor at the Faculty of Management and Business at Tampere University. Pekkola has published mainly in the field of public administration, societal security, higher education policy and academic profession. Pekkola is also a research associate at Ali Mazrui Centre for Higher Education Studies at University of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Hanna Kontio, PhD., Adjunct Professor, is a University Lecturer at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki. Her current research focuses on global education and intercultural pedagogies in higher education and on internationalization of higher education through North-South collaboration.
