It won the Women's Prize for Fiction, the Aspen Words Literary Prize, and an NAACP Image Award and has been published in two dozen countries. Jones is the C.H. Thank you so much Knopf, Pantheon, Vintage, and Anchor | Knopf and NetGalley for the gifted eARC. This is my voluntary, honest review. I recommend this story for those who are looking for a story with heavier topics and that is a historical fiction novel set in the American South. I recommend immersive reading this story. I appreciated the POVs of the main characters, Annie and Vernice, and it was heartbreaking and touching to see their stories intertwine and separate. As someone from the South, the history of Alabama and the deep south is very heartbreaking at times reading this type of story, a work of fiction, but reflecting what it was like from the perspective of people of color. Expect to cry reading this and expect to understand their stories through multiple POVs. I wanted to know more details around the MCs and get some closure to some of those relationships by the end!
