Target Selling Used and Damaged Books

First off, this review is solely about Target and in no way reflects Rites of the Starling. Target sold us a used book. It was ordered via online shopping, and the store associate picked it off the shelf. We did not think to check the bag last night at pick up, because why would Target sell us a used and damaged book? Either way, it must have been purchased, read, and returned damaged by another customer. It came to us very obviously previously read and damaged with rips in the cover. When we went into the store to return, Target employees would not even refund us (we picked it up less than 24 hours ago and the damage was not done by us). They said we could have a gift card or keep the damaged/used book they sold us. This is not a scenario where a gift card makes sense. We did not pick the book off of the shelf to see the damage, nor did we remotely have the book long enough to have caused the damage.

Edges are spayed. Not white as pictured

This is a review towards Target and not on the book itself. Description and product picture did not show sprayed edges. Although it's beautiful, the own the 1st book in the series without the sprayed edges and I need all my books in the same series to match on my shelf

Item arrive damaged. This reveiw is for Target and not the book!

This review has nothing to do with the book in general. It is 100% towards targets packaging department. Unfortunately, my book arrived damaged and now I’m having to get a replacement for it. I would just like for people to be aware that they need to look for stuff like this when they receive their items because sometimes I just put my books on the bookshelf until I’m ready to read them, but this one was damaged enough that I actually looked at it and through it to see what all the damage was so if you’re like me and sometimes just put your book on the bookshelves, check them out first and go through them to make sure there is no damage. I would also like to complain that target does not have an option to review the product or the company specifically. I feel like there should be an option to click who or what the one star review is for.

Devney Perry did not disappoint. I loved this book and the amazing journey it takes you on while simultaneously piecing together the most mind blowing puzzle. The characters have such depth and are so amazing. I find myself thinking about this book daily, and I finished it weeks ago.

They changed the listing picture, but I did in fact receive the sprayed edges like I pre-ordered. I do think the communication on who was and wasnt getting the sprayed edges would have helped.

False Advertisment

False Advertisement I preordered this with sprayed edge deluxe edition based on the product photo and description. Target changed the photo when they shipped this a couple days ago. The description still says deluxe and it’s what’s advertised on their weekly ad but it showing no sprayed edge. When I called they said I have to contact their vendor. They transferred me to their vendor and hung up on me.
