Should’ve read the reviews Bought this sand to add to a construction set I bought for my 2 1/2 yr old grandson That kits sand was really soft & had no scent Felt like natural beach sand This sand is gritty rougher & has a smell Also somewhat dried out Didn’t mix well with other sand at all He doesn’t like the feel of it & hasn’t played with it since Not sure if the colored sand of this brand is any better as I’m hesitant to spend more money if it’s no better 2 stars as it does hold together

Not like the original kinetic sand.
Not like the original sand that's in the small treasure boxes. This sand smells like it's sand and glue. My 2 yr old hates the smell and doesn't care to play with it. My 5 yr old still likes playing with it even though it had a strong odor. I'm glad I bought it on sale to try instead of at original pricing. The original felt soft and magnetic feel, while this one felt a little sticky, smelly, course, and stays in its shape longer. Still messy if not kept in a container or pan to play with.

Better than the color sands
If you’re like me and were trying to figure out what “beach sand” is versus all the different color sands - this is more moldable and holds shape better. I personally prefer this over the pretty color sands. It’s probably less “sensory” and smells a little more like glue, but the structures we build actually stay together
