Description

The U-Lock is known for bicycle security, and Kryptonite is known for U-Locks. This U-Lock & Cable combination was created to offer full-bike theft prevention. First, position the U shackle around the frame of the bike, the rear wheel, and the immovable object like a bike rack. Then place one loop of the cable on the shackle. Run the cable through the front wheel of the bike, (as well as any accessories like a helmet you may want theft deterrent for) and run the second loop back and around the shackle as well. Once you place the crossbar onto the shackle and lock it, you’ve created a solid level of theft deterrent for the major parts of your bicycle.

  • A: Yes, the U part is covered with silicone/rubber. Straight part is hard plastic. That part may or may not damage the paint on your bike.

    won.t fit 29" MTB

    The cable is to short to get both wheels and the U is too small to lock Both a 29" tire and the frame at once. shame on them they could have put an extra foot a cable, allas no.

    Lock broken, bike stolen

    Unfortunately my bike was stolen after the kryptonite lock was broken. Kind of a fatal design flaw that the thieves could break the lock at the thin bit where it inserts into the head. So it's basically only as secure as a lock that's half the thickness. Therefore I cannot recommend this lock.

    Awful how this product got SO bad

    I had a kryptonite lock for 20+ years for my first bike and decided to buy a second for a new bike. What a mistake. This new model always takes too long to lock. The pieces don't match well unless you have plenty of space to knock one inside the other. Do NOT recommend

    Great for keeping your bicycle and scooter safe

    This lock is amazing. It is very well made and has a great quality. It is sturdy and would be very hard for anyone to break. The lock is very easy to put on and locks in seconds. It fits bicycles as well as scooters. I use it on my scooter and it fits perfectly through my front and rear tires. I like that it is not too big which makes easier to store and cary around if needed. I would recommend it.

    Good Lock! 🍀

    This lock seems to be very sturdy and made of quality materials EXCEPT for the actual lock itself. Not sure if maybe its user error but the key randomly doesn’t unlock. Takes a couple of shimmies and moving parts to get it to unlock. When it works, its great so like i mentioned it might be user error. As for the accessories the bracket that came with it is a great idea to carry it around unfortunately my bike has the frame too narrow and the lock won’t fit. Not a deal breaker it can still fit in another area but the one where i thought it would it didn’t. Overall a good sturdy lock, I would recommend and will continue using since we bike all over town.

    Good

    This bike lock works pretty good. It was easy to setup and my son could lock and unlock his bike with ease. It’s sturdy and durable. It’s easy to store and isn’t too bulky that it takes up space. Overall he’s pretty happy with the extra security for his bike now.

    Sturdy - does the job!

    We like this lock. It's very strong. We're able to lock up both of our bikes together with it and it feels secure. It is heavy and bulky to carry though, but I guess you need that for it to be effective.

    Thwart the thieves

    Very sturdy U lock with cable. Have used twice now with no issues. No bike lock is ever 100 percent effective but with this one the crooks will walk on by and choose something easier to steal. I throw in in the basket of my eBike and run down to the grocery store without worrying about whether my bike will still be there when I get back.

    Sturdy and easy to use

    Sturdy lock; very easy to use. The U portion (the “shackle”) is easy to attach to a bike rack or pole or whatever you are locking your bike to. The cable is a nice additional bit of security. I also use the cable to attach my helmet (through a closed loop - not the part that buckles obv) and anything else I can hook on there that I don’t want to lug around. I think you’d have to be a very determined bike theft to get through any of the locks components. 5 stars.

    Kryptonite U-Lock Bicycle Lock and Cable

    This bicycle lock is tough! It's super heavy duty. It's a little on the heavy side. I would recommend you have a backpack or something close to that because it's fairly large. It's a great lock and I would trust it's durability.
