Q: I bought this for my 4 year old and when I tried to hook it up to turn it on it just makes a buzzing sound. Nothing else. My son was real upset so before I return it I wanted to find out if maybe it is just broken or if I’m doing something wrong.

submitted byKG - 4 months agoA: I bought two of these and same thing. I've changed the batteries out for fresh duracells and checked the volume. There's nothing left to troubleshoot that I can think of. Disappointing.

Q: Is it normal for it to only play for a few seconds? This is my second one and even after removing the paper cover from the player it only plays for a few second and then stops.

submitted byTargetgalGA - 4 months agoA: It's in display mode. Pull the white retainer tabs out on the bottom. If you broke it out of the package, tab pieces are probably still in the holes. Get pliers to turn the tabs and pull them out.
submitted byI have the fix - 4 months agoA: When it is removed from the package you must twist the white fasteners. Once they are twisted and removed the product should come out of try-me mode. You can see the little black button in the hole. Check to see if there is any plastic from the fastener stuck in there and then remove it. Q: Does my child have to set the needle for each song or is the whole side of the record supposed to play? My daughter's will only play one song on repeat unless I move the needle to the next song.

Bought each of my 2 year old grandsons the record player/ they love them. They are able to put the records on and off by themselves, they like the songs, they dance around all day! Highly recommend! Wish Mattel would sell additional records to purchase!!

My 4yo received this as a gift for Christmas. I was disappointed that after only a few uses the player is now making an annoying grinding/clicking sound. After a bit of time gathering info online I am noticing this is not an isolated issue. Hoping to find a solution for this, I will be contacting customer service but buyer beware.

My toddler loves this. She literally grabbed it and put it in the cart for me. She loves the yellow record the most currently. Only giving it 4 stars because it really needs additional albums you can purchase. For example some if us are rock and metal fans. There is alot you can do with those genres.

This is a really cute toy. It's recommended for 3+ years old. But I purchased it for my 2 year old Grandson and he loves it. There's a few songs like BINGO that he knew and I think that's his favorite. It's really easy to use and he enjoys it. The toy comes with a little stand to hold the records. I would definitely recommend this for toddlers and young children.

It is a really fun idea and cool toy, and my kids like all the songs. However, in less than a month, it has started making an annoying, repetitive rubbing sound as it spins. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it, but it makes every song too annoying for me to listen to. It doesn't bother my kids too much, though.

Its a good product and my child is excited to have a record player just like daddy. The only down side is she cant add to her collection. Would be excited to purchase more if they chooose to offer new records in the future.

We got this item for Christmas and right out of the package it never worked. When turned on and the needle placed over a disc, it makes an awful noise and doesn’t spin. What a disappointment for our son!

I bought this record player for my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She loves it! She wants more recordings to buy. I looked and found there are no more to buy. She was sad, but still loves her record player. She plays it often each day and dances to it. I love to watch her.

Bought this item twice from Target, both times item did not work. Had no problem returning the product to Target and getting a refund. Called Fisher Price to compalin as my grandson was dissappointed, and was advised by someone outside of the United States that the higher ups would be made aware of the problem. Alaways thought Fisher Price was quality but not with this item.
Major sound problems ruin such an amazing idea.

Unfortunately while this is an amazing toy, the speakers are so distorted it sounds horrible. Everything else about this toy is amazing but what’s the point of a musical device if it sounds like a drive thru speaker? My son loves this. I love it. It’s fantastic. But they failed miserably. You can barely understand the words on the thoughtfulness album.

We love this toy BUT after just a few days of uses it's making an odd noise while playing the records. My kids have not dropped it or anything so not sure where it's coming from. Really no complaints other than that!

This was my 2.5 year old son’s favorite present from christmas. The songs have great variety and the mindfulness record surprised me with how much interest it gets from him. He follows the instructions and takes a deep breaths! This is not just a toy that will end up in a pile with others after the initial excitement wears off. He feels like he has autonomy because he can control everything, and he is also learning how to care for his toy and put the records back in the sleeve to play a new one.

A grandparent purchased this for Christmas after I suggested it for my 3 year old, and he absolutely loves it. I catch my 6 and 9 year olds playing with it too. Even my husband commented that it was some of the best music coming from a toy that he's heard. I would love to see more "records" sold for the toy, although I'm sure that's not how it works. Either way, great product.
