The legs hold up very well, whether the door is open or closed. Fits my fireplace perfectly and looks great! Comes with a nice fire extinguisher I use in front of my wood stove so I can open the door and distribute the heat better without fear of sparks flying out and starting a fire. The quality of the workmanship on this product is incredible for the price. We are very pleased. Perfect
