Q: Are the flakes supposed to be a tad yellowish or brownish? Not all flakes and not entirely covered. TIA

  • A: yes, this is due to the natural processing methods, specifically the drying method and inclusion of some of the natural coconut skin. In the drying process, the heat causes the organic coconut sugars to slightly caramelize. Unlike conventional coconut flakes, which are highly processed and often bleached, our organic coconut flakes are minimally processed, resulting in this slight yellow or tan color.

    Coconut

    I love this coconut, I added it to a nut pie crust and it was wonderful, use it in my no sugar freezer fudge and it adds creaminess and great flavor. Always have it on hand, many used.

    Best shredded coconut

    I have this on hand all the time for cooking and cereal. It is finely shredded and the best to use. No sugar added, healthy food to have in your diet.

    These are great as is or lightly toasted. I love to mix these in cooked oatmeal with chopped pecans, cacao nibs, and coconut sugar for breakfast. When toasted they taste almost like candy!

    MY GO-TO SNACK!

    Love this stuff! I spread it out on a cookie sheet, sprinkle with pink Himalayan salt and toast at 325° for 10-15 minutes, until completely golden, cool and store in jars. Tastes like baked phyllo, yum. I often mix it with roasted seeds and sugar free chocolate chips for a wholesome snack. Great on oatmeal and salads, too!

    Delicious Organic Coconut Flakes

    I was quite pleased with these coconut flakes, and very glad I tried them. They're delicious, and will make a great on-the-go nutritious snack. I'm very happy that they're organic, so I know I'm keeping my body free of toxins when I indulge in their sweet goodness. They're an excellent value for the price.

    I love this coconut ~ I use it in my daily morning cereal which consists of equal amounts of soaked chia seeds, hemp seeds, ground flax seeds and finely shredded coconut. Sometimes I add a little of Bob’s Red Mill wheat-free Muesli. I top it with some chopped berries and eat it for breakfast. Often I add some coconut milk or hemp milk for an added treat. It's full of fiber and as part of a cereal mix it's really tasty; it;s filling and it keeps things moving right along!

    Excellent Coconut for Baking

    Good flavor. I appreciate being able to buy unsweetened organic coconut for baking, and I am quite satisfied with Let's Do Organic's. I would prefer slightly coarser shreds, but that is minor. I like it well enough that I purchased a second package.

    I had to form into walnut size balls, the fine shreds made it easier. Taste was very good. Price maybe a little high.

    Large Pieces of Coconut

    I use these flakes to make grain free granola (yum!) and I like that they are larger than other brands I have used (Bob's Red Mill). Good flavor and not broken in bag.
