Q: can this platform bed be used with box springs and mattress?

Q: I order this bed frame in a full. It did not ship with a board to fit beneath head frame to support the frame. Does the Full Size need this?

submitted by neal - 7 years ago
  • A: I'm not sure what board you are referring to. You should have received three cartons. Please call Wholesale Interiors for missing cartons 800-517-0717. This bed frame includes slats that need to be assembled to support the mattress and run across the frame.

Q: what supports the mattress? Can you use a foam or only an innerspring mattress?

Horrible bedframe, do not buy!!!! The instructions were very complicated, not clear at all. After having the bed for only 3 days, the center beam supporting the slats completely collapsed/ split in the middle. Trust the other reviews, I surely didn’t and now I’m regretting it

Shipped Wrong combination of parts/ Poor Installation guide

1 out of 5 stars
Bad Experience - 3 years ago, Verified purchaser
I would not recommend buying this unless you are experienced to do handyman works with a POOR installation guide. Initially I received a package and surprised to see only header board and footer. Talked to Target customer care and later came to know the seller shipped it as multiple packages (3 package) which is not shown in the order history. I received the remaining in next 2 days. It only has a single installation page and dont have much details on the placing the board and side panel sides / orientation / flipping etc. After 5-6 hrs of assembling, noticed that the bed slats are not matching for king. I called customer care and finally advised to return all with all the the parts in original package. Spend another 2hr to disassemble and back in packing. You need another 1 or 2 helping hands to assemble/disassemble. Another thing is the quality. I doubt it can really support a king size mattress (50 -100lb) and 2 adults (150 -300 lb avg) Appearance is awesome. Has a royal vintage/traditional look. I like it.

First this is my second bed. The first arrived broken. Second this bed is not safe if you have children or pets who could get underneath. It is unstable. Not sturdy. Almost fell to the ground in one night. Returning tomorrow.

When the piece arrive it had a broken foot board. The manufacturer sent a replacement. Fast forward a couple month and the headboard cracks. Terrible quality. I had to return it. Waste of time and energy.

The bed is beautiful, but the support pieces are pretty shoddy. The predrilled holes in the slats were to far over to actually drill into the beam, and the center bar was really flimsy. We ended up doing some reinforcing ourselves by cutting additional support “feet” for the slats. Otherwise, the visible pieces are pretty and seem to be very sturdy.

Attacked by Bed Frame

So incredibly disappointed with the product and with Target. When we first received the bed, the wooden beam for the bottom edge of the bed (footboard) was assembled incorrectly. It looked as if the glue had been let to dry and the piece slipped out partially in the factory. Called Target customer service to order a replacement, and they told me they would follow up with a supplier and I never heard from them again. I managed to loosen the adhesive and wiggle the piece out and re-glue and repair it successfully on my own. (Day 1) THEN we have tile floors. The center two legs that attach to the center rail continuously slipped, even after rigging them with (several) types of non-slip feet. They eventually cracked the cheap center rail, and the top leg couldn't be re-attached. The whole bed slumped in the middle, so we had to temporarily prop it up. It turned out that a large stack of textbooks could hold this bed up better than the original construction. (In May) Finally, the small wooden balancing piece that suspends and attaches the center beam from the headboard down to the footboard cracked and split. This tiny little piece of wood can't be expected to hold up an entire queen sized bed! I went to climb onto the bed, and I fell to the floor, knocking my shin against the footboard. (Today, July) I can't believe that a bed I ordered in March fell apart over the course of four months. This is absurd. Do not order this bed. Get the headboard (which is beautiful) instead and attach it to something much sturdier.

The woodwork for this bed is beautiful. However, when my bed arrived from buying it on Target.com, the hardware and instructions were not in the box!! I would have left 5 stars but it's ridiculous that Target sent me a bed without all the components.

I ordered this bed as it was on sale and was exactly what I was looking for. It came in great condition with all of the parts. It was a little tricky to assemble, but I blame that on my inability to follow instructions. It's a beautiful bed-frame, I'm really looking forward to using it!

More shiny than in the photos

4 out of 5 stars
Christy - 7 years ago
Ordered a king. Headboard arrived damaged. While the bed is wood, there is a shiny veneer that I am not a fan of. If the wood looked more like wood and not so plastic-y, I'd exchange instead of returning it. Overall for the price, the design is not bad (minus the shiny look). If the frame were mostly covered with a mattress, bedding, pillows etc, you probably wouldn't even notice it.
