Buylateral Margo Mid Century Modern Desk

This is NOT hardwood, this is mdf, and this is mdf apart from the legs and the two braces which are actual wood. I've bought a lot of ikea furniture and I have experience building those, but this was so much easier to build, I had no issues with the holes not matching, no issues with improper sizing. The indent for adding the drawer bottoms was clever, and also very well done. I think this is great for the pricetag, and it looks great too.

The desk is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Although it came well-packaged, the bar connecting the front and back legs on the right side came disconnected. I was able to just kind of push it into place, but it needs to be glued back together unfortunately. It also smelled strongly of chemicals for the first few days. But to me, those things are not huge deals since the desk is gorgeous.

We love this desk with the exception of the scratches that were in the top of the desk. Not sure if this was a shippint issue or if it was like that prior to shipping :( If anyone has any tips for fixing them??

Arrived damaged. I should have listened to the other reviews. It’s also closer to a light yellow/cream than white. I’ll attach photos. All they offered was $20 back because who’s taking apart and million pieces and lugging it back to the store?

Love the look and quality of the product.

Drawers are very very spacious and the little shelf saves my computer from my cat who likes to sit on everything. Perfect height and overall size. Its a little pricey but I think it was worth the money. Very aesthetic.

Leg is broken. Scratches on corners and some sort of oily residue on top.

It’s adorable, but so shoddily made- even worse than I expected for particle board. A big chunk was dented off the top, other pieces were chipped or scratched and even with precise assembly, it feels shaky. Also worth noting that the drawers do not go the full way back- about 7 inches is left between back of the drawer and back of the desk. I chose not to enclose this ‘dead space’ so I could hide my router, etc in that area. “Make lemonade” and all that….

I absolutely love the blue color and the modern style. It goes perfectly with my decor! It was fairly easy to put together as well. As a few others have mentioned, some of the pieces had small chips but it’s not too noticeable.

The desk is gorgeous, and I love how sleek it looks and how much storage it has. However, note that mine did arrive damaged. I was able to fix the leg with super glue, however it was also scratched. It doesn’t bother too much, and if you didn’t know it I don’t think you could tell. I will also say the drawers were a huge hassle to install and despite finally installing them correctly mine won’t sit in the proper position.

so, don’t believe the negative reviews for this. those people unluckily got a faulty desk and that happens so just take it back and reorder? my desk came in great! and i built it by myself. love the color & how sturdy it is.

It looks beautiful in the product photos. In real life, after assembly the desk looks cheap and lopsided. I did not receive all of the hardware that I needed and there were a couple of steps in the instructions that we so unclear I had to deconstruct those assemblies multiple times. I really wish that I had spent this money on a nice piece of furniture that arrived already in one permanently assembled piece. Too expensive for such disappointing results.

Looks really nice when put together, relatively simple to put together, and overall good quality materials. I was able to put this desk together all by myself, but it took me 4 hours rather than 1.5 hrs like the directions say (but they also say it is a 2 person job). The directions are clear and everything comes together easily. I’m really bummed because there is damage on the front of the desk top, which was there when I opened the box. I was hoping that side would be in the back where no one will see it, but of course it’s in the front. The only negative of the design: the base of the drawers is a really thin sheet of material (like 1/8 inch) and I am concerned that they won’t support weight. I got this desk to store school supplies and textbooks, will I break it?? I don’t know why they didn’t make it with ½ wood like the other 4 sides of the drawer.

IM SURPRISED. there are no reviews on this desk?! I knew I shouldn’t have purchased. First, the color walnut is way more of a red acorn (when I finally put this desk together I’ll post a picture). I was encouraged by an influencer to purchase this (stupid I know). Since she didn’t even leave a review for it. It doesn’t come with the tools needed to put it together. It takes more than 2 hours to put together. I would return (but honestly who wants to carry this back to target). Unfortunately I’m the one making this review but hopefully will save people from the misery before giving an influencer her 10%. Pictures to come once I finish putting it together.
