Description
This is a rotary-type wall plate volume control for speaker systems with power ratings of up to 100 watts per channel and impedance ratings of 4 to 16 ohms. This rotary control can be set to one of twelve positions, including the minimum (off) and maximum volume settings. The wall plate mounts into a standard single-gang, low-voltage wall bracket (not included) and has inputs and outputs for one pair of stereo speaker wires (4 input connections and 4 output connections). It can accept speaker wire in sizes from 14 to 16 gauge and provides a frequency response range of 35 Hz to 20 kHz (+0/-2db) at the full power rating of 100 watts per channel.

Good unit, performs well, takes up a lot of space in the box
This unit works very well. It attenuates speaker just like it sais, and does it well. You MUST check the single gang box that you want to put it in, it is deep and will not fit shallow depth boxes. It has two transformers built on to it for impedance that take up space in the box and cabling is tight. Just be aware of this if you're adding it to an existing wall.

So-so.
Easy to wire and looks good. However, it restricts the volume considerably. The highest setting is about half of what it was before putting the switch in. Mind you, I am not an expert so perhaps I do not understand the electrical part.

100 watt volume control failed after 8 hours of use
Enough said. I bought this to balance a pair of "Speaker A"s from my stereo amp with "Speaker B"s which weren't as efficient. I ran the louder speakers through this switch and turned them down a little. After about 8 hours of use, the circuitry for the right channel no longer works at any volume. If you do decide to buy this, I'd recommend mounting it using a low voltage clip-on frame rather than an electrical 1 or 2 gang box. The 8 speaker wire leads and this massive switch profile is just too much to easily mount in a box, and for low voltage wiring, a box isn't necessary.

Useful and easy.
Like and reccomend. Only issue is if filtering in stereo is set wrong or the volume asked to control is a lot between steps the units magnets turn the face plate into a small speaker and you can hear audio from the controller.

Awful
After installing the volume control I noticed that sound only came out of one channel. After hours of troubleshooting I found that the problem was the volume control. There are two jumpers on the side of the volume control. One was missing. Now I will be spending an additional $20 or doubling the price to get soldor equipment to fix it.

So glad you had them and they work fine!! 20 years old replaced, if I would replace anything the plate that covers the knob is fine but the screws are horrible. They are short which is ok but then the straight edge crease for the screw driver is to small. You have to ind a very thin screw driver and do it by hand ..... try it yourself they are shallow and narrow. Thank you though so glad you came through!!

White is not White
The switch seems fine but the trouble for me is they are a slight off-white color and will not match you other white switches, wall plates, etc. A very noticeable difference if close to other switches they look a slightly yellowed plastic. All 6 I ordered were identical color. .

Add More Control to your Speaker Mix
Very well made and easy to set up. I used this with an amp that had A and B speakers and the one pair of speakers were always louder so this helped balance the sound perfectly. It is rather deep though so you will need a longer enclosure than a standard wall outlet. I used a pvc box from Home Depot and it worked just fine.

Didn't work with my Bose speaker
My amp ? Speaker are both 8ohm. I set the rms 100w to 8 ohm. Connected everything but the rms100 almost muted the volume. I changed ohm settings with no apparent change. I removed the rms100 and had music with no control

I recently bought two of the speaker controllers for a double set of outdoor speakers and one of them worked great. The other only operated a single side of the speakers and I had to replace it with another controller.So, 50% of the controllers worked?
