Napoleon Propane Gas Grill

Great versatile grill, easy to clean, easy to move but still big enough to do everything I want. Switched out half side to a griddle and bought the cover and really love it.

Very nice small either stationary or portable bbq! Could have come with a grill plate like the one just below this model.

Pro 285 is my first BBQ I bought it after checking all reviews so finally I got it, build quality so great and it’s a premium touch ,cast iron griddle are premium finish,

I have a small grilling station inside my garage for grilling when its raining or too cold outside to use my large grill. I had a small gas grill but wanted something with more than one burner so purchased the TravelQ from Napoleon. The only minor challenge I saw was that the grill came with an adaptor that fit the large 20 lb. propane tanks. I wanted to use the small 1 lb. propane tanks because the larger tanks would be too cumbersome to fit on my garage grill shelf. You can buy a brass adaptor to fit the smaller tanks online . Using this adaptor I was set to grill. I used the accessory griddle plate first to sear crab cakes which worked great. The grill fires up easily with its jet type ignitors just like my large Napoleon. The griddle got very hot with no trouble and put a nice sear on my crab cakes. My next grill was some brats, hot dogs and a couple of half pound burgers. Again the grill started with ease and quickly within less than 5 minutes was very hot and ready for action. I was able to adjust the heat lower on one side to keep from burning the dogs while using higher heat on the other side to cook the burgers. I used the handy accessary warming rack to keep the dogs and brats for burning while finishing up my burgers. The grill is well made, heats up quickly even in the cold winter and you can get lots of handy accessories. I didn’t get the portable travel stand as I use this in my garage - but if you want to travel you might like that option or simple carry this for tail gate events. The warranty is one of the best in the business compared to all other portable gas grills. I highly recommend this grill if you’re looking for a smaller gas grill. Also this grill is reasonably easy to clean as it has two grates that are easy to take out and clean in a kitchen sink. Same for the optional griddles.

This is a really good BBQ! Gets hot fast! The only thing is I wish that the cart would be available separately as I bought the BBQ without it and I regret it.Tried to buy it separately but they don't do that.

Wanted to downsize and this is a great option whether you have a natural gas one (I purchased) or propane model. Size fits well with the size of my deck. Had to purchase bbq from one dealer and the table at another. The table assembly instructions are not great but we got it assembled in about a hour. Hook up to natural gas was easy. Ignition easy. Heating up of BBQ was very fast and the few things that I have cooked so far have been fantastic!

Good size natural gas bbq, enough to feed 4 to 6 people. It comes with the hose. I use it on a condo balcony that has nat gas outlet. Buying the optional 56080 Cast Iron Reversible Griddle was a smart thing to do, for cooking bacon/eggs and fish. Temp controls are quite accurate, including the thermometer. Easy fire and adjustments, extremely easy cleaning (due to the porcelain coated grills - careful not to use cleaning tools that can scratch/damage this surface). I would buy it again with closed eyes :)

The construction is very solid. It cooks T bone like a boss. So, if you will use this for hamburgers and hotdogs you can’t go wrong.

This is an awesome little bbq, but has some over lookable flaws. 1) the website could have mentioned it came with a hose and a 20lb bottle connector already installed. You buy a 1lb bottle and you are F’ed. 2) the inside could be designed for easier cleaning. I am sure nobody that designed it had to clean the grease off the bolts. Would buy again, and again after that!!!

The grill has been great. Love the two zone heat and portability. The foot of the legs has a sharp edge that hangs on my mat during storage. Be careful what you would put on the cast iron grates or you will be scraping for awhile to get the remnants off. Would prefer stainless steel grates (easier to clean). Using the recommended brass brush won’t last long compared to the stainless steel brush. Over all, would recommend this grill.

We are a retired couple & love to cook outdoors. We have the tail gate Napoleon barbecue. Everything about it works for us. We live in a condo & propane is not allowed. This gas model is great. It cooks very well & always flavourful.

The TravelQ Pro285 is perfect for our condominium's small balcony. The balcony is less than 50 sq. ft but with the TravelQ and stand we now have room for a bistro table, two chairs and a couple of planters. The TravelQ meets the high standards of Napoleon products that we are accustomed to and the results are delicious, whether it is poultry, beef, or fish.

We’ve had a full size Napoleon grill for years and have been extremely happy with it so when we went shopping for a portable grill, Napoleon was our first choice. We ended up with the Travel q pro and it has exceeded all of our expectations. Frankly, we expected compromises from a portable grill as compared to our full size Napoleon but there are none! This thing heats up quickly, has even heating is well built and durable, couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

I am a grill enthusiast and have tried several trasnportable grills, each time with disappointment when the steak is placed on the grill and the temperature is not high enough and the steak almost boils and never gets the delicious roast crust. This is not the case with this grill from Napoleon, it's full blast on the burners and the steak is cooked perfectly. I took the grill with me on a 4-week "wilderness" combined with a camping holiday in Norway, the grill was used almost every day, and I'm surprised at how good it is. With the two burners, I could do indirect frying, I baked bread, I smoked fish with the additional smoking pipe. so I can highly recommend this gas grill.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We've had our TravelQ for 3 years now and it comes with us everywhere - whether it's camping, a day trip to the beach or dogs before a ball game. It starts easily, heats up quickly and with two burners, I've been able to cook using indirect heat as well as direct-heat grilling. It's well built and heats way more evenly than our old Coleman grill.

On this grill, I have been colony indirectly, searing steaks, smoking meat (with a tube) and recently bought the rotisserie. I also did a modification on it, to ensure the heat is retained and distributed even more evenly. I fitted some ceramic briquettes, and, trust me, they make this grill a masterpiece. Only downside is the fact that it now takes twice as much time for the grill to heat up, but when it does, it is retained for 30 mins upon switching off the grill. Insane. I wish Napoleon had an official offering, because finding the right size of grate to place the briquettes was not easy.

Worked first time but has not worked with subsequent uses. Pilot lights but propane to burners is very limited & never fully ignite. Have cleaner burners and tried new propane tank but burners never fully light.
