[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this safety gate hook on the backyard door of the fence. It is a nice and sturdy gate hook. It feels like it will last awhile without issue. It was easily installed and it is easy to open and close. I would buy this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to make sure my horses couldn't let themselves out of their paddock. It's strong and heavy duty. The safety feature is easy to use and doesn't get in the way at all. Made of steel and zinc plated, it should last a long time. It also comes with eye bolts for mounting. Using eye bolts is much safer than using a staple; they stay put and won't pull out under stress. Another nice design feature are the holes on the safety lever that allow you to use a padlock or snap. That will definitely keep your four-legged escape artists from getting loose and into trouble. I highly recommend this gate hook.

Its bigger than what I used before, but it works just as well, if not better! Nothing too fancy or complicated with it, it simply gets the job done and done well. Overall, I'm quite pleased.

Solid, substantial hook that feels like it will hold up long-term. Safety latch clicks into place securely, but also easy to open as needed. Easy install, but you'd kinda have to be a moron if you had problems screwing this into things.

This gate hook is heavy-duty and feels absolutely solid. The size seems to be a tad larger and there is no way anyone can open my side gate now.

The design is well thought out, from the squared hook for easy connecting to the eye bolt, to the swing latch that falls into place and allows you to lock the hook securely with a padlock. Once installed the heavy-duty steel and design of the eye hooks ensure it is secure and when locked becomes impossible to open or try to uninstall. When you do want to open it, the design of the securing latch allows you to open it with one have. The threaded eye hooks allow for easy installation, after drilling pilot holes. The zinc coating seems to be substantial and a well-covered around everything, keeping it from rusting for years. I used my gate hook as a way to keep my shed door open while working. The security latch adds that additional layer to ensure the hook won’t pop out when nudged or from a gust of wind. Whether you use this National gate hook to secure a gate or a shed/barn door or anything else indoors or out, you won’t go wrong with this gate hook.

If you have animals (like a big smart grand-dog like I do) this gate hook will work great!! No escapees…lol! My husband did the installation and he said it was no problem, and the install was easy . The whole process took him about 30 minutes! I can recommend these.

I’m not the handiest person and I was able to install these easily no problems. I would recommend them again. I will update the review once they’re been up awhile.x

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this hook set on my privacy fence gate. It was very easy to install, just level and drill the holes for the large eye screws. It is very sturdy and heavy duty. I've had it installed for about a week, no problems. Keeps the gate shut.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using this one for our smaller shed (using the 8" version for the bigger one, which I've also reviewed). The difference between the two is that this one doesn't need additional screws. It comes with everything needed. The only problem here though is that the longevity of the installation might be shorter than the 8" variant, since each end is only held up by 1 large nail and the wood can give away over the years. With no backups, one loose nail = reinstallation. But that's years down the road. Using this to hold a shed door closed is perfect. Also, for drills: it's 7/32" 5.5mm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because my granddaughter who is almost five is autistic and she breaks everything, doors, cabinet doors, you name it, so we got these to prevent her from opening certain doors and cabinets which will also help keep her safe and these are nice and heavy duty so they work better than any of the small ones I've purchased, definitely recommend

It also has a clasp to lock in place. We are using it to secure our sail shade over our spa. I actually recommend all National Hardware as it comes with a Lifespan Limited Lifetime Warranty. You can’t go wrong with these products.
