A: You have to cook it. Just a few minutes in a frying pan so it’s no longer red.

I purchased the Demakes Bros. Shaved Beef for the first time when Target offered a buy one get one at 25% off through Target Circle. I was craving a “Philly steak” and decided to give this product a try. Let me just say, it didn’t disappoint. I sautéed the onion and peppers in a skillet with a little olive oil and butter mixture along with seasonings . I then added the shaved beef for a few minutes, being careful not to overcook the beef. I toasted the roll with butter. At the last minute I added provolone cheese over the beef and sautéed vegetables, just allowing the cheese to melt over. It was delicious, rivaling anything I had in Philadelphia! With the generous portion size of the shaved beef I was able to make three Philly steak sandwiches that was full of flavorful beef at a fraction of the sandwich shop cost! Win, win

This company is ripping you off. I weighed the meat while using it, to divide into two big cheesesteaks. Took 7.1 ounces for my first sandwich. Expected about 6.9 or more ounces for the 2nd sandwich. My first time making shaved steak as opposed to frozen minute steaks. I was nervous they’d be tough and chewy but they are very tender! I seasoned the raw meat with some black pepper, onion, and garlic seasoning and put it on a toasted Italian steak roll with melted Muenster cheese and sautéed onions and peppers. So good! One star deduction for the fatty globs I had to cut out. Otherwise, it’s perfect!

This beef cooks up so fast and it is always so good. I have bought it many times, usually for Philly Cheesesteaks. Also for stir fry and to add to ramen.I do use food scissors to cut up after it is cookes since it does tend to have large pieces. My husband and son always look forward to eating it. It has become a staple in my fridge.
