Viola, sweet and gentle
Such a pretty dolly. Viola has a very gentle friendly face. She kind of reminds me of Effie, but not as shy. Some of the OG dolls have a ‘chipper’ expression, which is charming, and some have a softer look. It all adds to the impression and diversity of personality, which I love. We actually purchased two Violas. One for my daughter’s friend, and one for my daughter. That’s how much I like her. Viola’s eyes are brown around her pupil, rimmed with green. Her green sweater accentuates this nicely. Her little brown shoes are easy to take off and put back on, and offer a nice sturdy base to help Viola stand unsupported. My daughter was able to do this without help from me. A couple critiques: Viola has very pretty bright warm tone blonde, swirled up in kind of a sock bun. It’s very cute from the front, but a little messy at the back. I noticed that on both dolls upon removing from the packaging. Our daughter’s friend opted to take her hair down immediately, which resulted in nice long wavy hair. Unfortunately, I had a hard time taking Viola’s clothes off of her. My daughter, being 3, likes to dress and undress her dolls. Her green sweater comes off easily, and goes back on with no problem. But her tutu bodysuit is a really tough removal. I think I’m going to end up breaking the threads along the neckline because it’s so tight around the arms as you pull the garment up or down. These threads probably should have been stretchy. Also, the tutu part itself is sew on crooked. It makes the tutu asymmetrical, and does not look intentional. I really like OG clothing and accessories, but this piece seems kind of cheap, unusual for this brand. Viola’s socks are a sheer pink tulle and have gold glitter hearts on them. They’re so cute, but they shed glitter immediately! I have a baby crawling around the living room right now who is sporting some glitter accents! This is to be expected when it comes to chunky glitter. If you’re glitter-phobic, I reccomend that you maybe brush and tap some of this excess into the sink before you hand her over for play time. All this aside, Viola is a sweet dolly with a friendly little face. She seems quiet and serene, and I think she’ll fit well with the pet rabbits and foals the dolls have. I also think a pair of glasses would suit Viola nicely. With her complexion and personality, I would be inclined to choose ‘perfect score’, with glasses included and its plaid overalls dress. For casual days, I can see Viola wearing ‘ready to roam’, with its khaki joggers and cute white linen looking top. This particular outfit would look extra cute with Viola’s green sweater, and the brown shoes she already comes with. I wish OG had pet birds, because I could see a girl like Viola having a pair of love birds or a little parrot. Who knows, maybe that’s on the horizon? What I do know is my daughter has lots of fun times ahead of her with her new dolly friend. I highly recommend Viola.
