Q: what is the container made of and then, what is the lid made of? and is it BPA free?
submitted by Ben - 3 years ago
A: Thanks for your question!
The containers in this TOT Baby Blocks Set are made out of a plastic (polypropylene) lid and container along with a silicone gasket. For over 25 years, the safety and comfort of OXO consumers have been our priority. Our products undergo extensive, rigorous testing through third-party, independent labs for lead, BPA, phthalates, and other potentially harmful chemicals.
In addition, we monitor and ensure the products meet or exceed the applicable domestic and international regulations, including those in California Proposition 65, and of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), as well as industry and additional corporate quality standards.
The product has received mixed feedback from guests, with some appreciating its utility for meal prepping and food storage, especially for baby food. However, concerns have been raised about the silicone seals losing grip, leading to leaks and difficulties in closing the lids. While some guests found the sizes convenient for portioning, others suggested opting for larger containers. Overall, the product serves well for its intended purpose but may require improvements in design and durability.

Silicone rings under lids can come off
I thought I liked these in the beginning but now that my first born grew out of these, I realize hate these. The silicone ring to keep the tubs sealed CAN COME OFF. I had my daycare lose the ring and my cooler bag came home with puree peas all over it because the care taker did not realize she had lost it (I don't blame her because one would think these things would stay in place). They did stay in place in the beginning but soon lost its "grippy-ness" and fall out all the time now with my 2nd child. It even falls out when just trying to close the lid and gets in the way of the seal, making me try to close it several times. These also get lost while in storage if you have lids just floating around in your drawers. The 2oz tubs are very small and my baby grew out of using that size in a month, just go for the bigger tubs (4oz or more) so the 2oz don't become useless. Looking for a new brand now. I love the OXO brand, but these are a MISS. Wishing I can get a refund as these are also priced at a premium. Oh, and the plastic tray they came with, never used it.
Unimpressed 2.

Such versatile storage
I am using my set of these freezer storage cubes for storing lime juice. The sizes are perfect for getting just the right amount of juice and not wasting left over. I’m sharing this idea with other Master Food Preservers. The second set is for my new great grandson, when he starts eating solid foods.

Highly disappointed
I liked these at first but two of them broke within 3 days. I’ve been trying to use the rest of them for the past two weeks but now the silicone seal on the lid falls right out of the lid when I try to put a lid on the container. So now I can hardly even close them. Very disappointed.

Not my favorite
Alright. The carrier trays I don’t actually find useful but we don’t prep much for the fridge. The size is alright- more for smaller babies with less amounts of baby foods. The tops also have a rim for securing and they don’t stay on after washing so easily lost. I wouldn’t necessarily buy these again

Poor design
Was really excited about these to help store food to bring for my baby at daycare but the design is just not good. The kids don’t stack which makes it really difficult to store, and one of the lids broke within 1-2 uses. I will be finding another storage solution for homemade baby foods.

Great comtainers!
If you are doing BLW or purées these are perfect for you! They grow with baby and you can later on put snacks in the containers! (Or dipping sauce) they are used heavily in our household and we love them!
