more wind tollerance
All though it seemed effective when we first put it up, it was unable to tolerate the Texas panhandle winds. The wings broken just 3 days after putting it up and it was average winds.
I would not recommend it in areas that have winds that exceed 12-15mph.

Great Buy; Very Effective
I am very happy with my purchase. Since putting it up I haven't seen a bird in my backyard all day. Before, I had one of the stationary plastic owls and the birds use to sit on it. I have my prowler owl sitting on top of a 6 ft pole. I have it anchored to the ground with a small hook, piece of wire, and a tent peg. We get very strong winds here and I dont want it to blow away. I would highly recommend this product. It is very effective.

Worked like magic!
I put it together and just stuck it in a low branch of one of the cluster of trees that had been overtaken by starlings. I thought I'd just leave it there until I got a pole to set it on. When I went out early the next morning, there were no starlings at all! Worked like magic!

Well worth the money!!!
Our predator owl has worked wonders from the minute he was installed on a PVC pipe by our pool deck. We had a terrible problem with birds flying over the pool and doipping presents in the pool and on the deck. The minute the owl was installed and started moving in the wind, the birds changed their course and go around the pool completely.

Very scary. Very effective
I have a large koi pond and this year the herons were having a daily feast while I watched my fish population dwindle. I've hoisted this owl on a 7' pole in the evening and - so far - fish seem to be fine. Had to get the pole at the lumber yard. The owl scares away ALL birds - even the cardinals and woodpeckers abandon the feeders when the owl comes out.
