CITIZEN X is a Los Angeles-based contemporary art collective whose interdisciplinary practice explores the intersections of public space, civic identity, collective memory, and visual culture. Working across painting, installation, photography, text, public intervention, and collaborative practice, the collective investigates how art can function as both a historical document and an active participant in contemporary social discourse. Rejecting the notion of the solitary artist, CITIZEN X embraces collaboration as both a creative methodology and a philosophical position. Their projects are developed through a shared authorship that privileges dialogue over individual attribution, reflecting the belief that cultural production is inherently collective. In this model, the artwork becomes less a singular object than a public forum--an evolving conversation shaped by multiple voices, perspectives, and lived experiences.
