My toddlers and I go through a lot of string cheese. We usually buy Kraft but they only had this, and by comparison this was an awful texture, even my 2 year old said it’s “yucky” and threw it away (and he devours string cheese). This one is so much more firm and not soft, and doesn’t peel as well. The texture is also way more rubbery.

These taste so nasty. I used to buy this brand randomly and they taste so doesn’t now. So nasty, I’m ready to throw them out.

On 4/12/2026, I purchased two pairs of prescription glasses (one distance, one computer) and paid for an eye exam. At the time of payment, the sales associate provided only the receipt for the eye exam. When I specifically requested the receipt for the eyewear, I was told it would be emailed to me. I never received that email. Today, upon picking up my glasses, I demanded a physical copy of the receipt. It was only then that I discovered I had been charged $34.99 per pair ($69.98 total) for a "one-year eyewear protection plan." I want to be very clear: I was never asked if I wanted to purchase a protection plan. I did not authorize these charges. The sales associate intentionally withheld the itemized receipt at the point of sale, preventing me from seeing these unauthorized additions. When I called the store to rectify this, I was told the plan "must" be purchased. This is factually incorrect and a violation of consumer rights. Charging a customer for a service or protection plan without their express consent is an unethical and "sneaky" business practice. Required Resolution: I am demanding a full refund of $69.98 (plus any associated tax) for the two unauthorized protection plans. I value Target as a brand, but I will not accept being charged for products I did not request or agree to buy. I look forward to your immediate response and confirmation that this refund has been processed. If this is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate this matter to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Sincerely, MY NAME

Aside from the texture and flavor difference, most of the way Sargento gets to label this as “light” is reducing the size of the cheese significantly. So these are lots of plastic wrapper and very little food (one pack of regular is 12oz of cheese and this pack has 12 sticks and 9oz of cheese). Nobody needs to alter their ratio of protein to fat in a way that these really move the needle compared to eating half a regular stick. You’re buying the emotion of healthiness more than a big hit of low fat protein.

Good protein snack. I just didnt like the skim taste too much.

Sargento light string cheese is both of my kids’ favorite! And we live in Wisconsin so we know cheese! 😉

Expired, didn’t noticed until now what I when to open them that they were expired since May and I had bought this at the end of July. Check expirations when buying online

We keep these stocked for protein snacks. Please lower the price again and bring back the 24 pack! !

Beyond inedible...so much salt, this cheese actually made my tongue sizzle.

I wish I heeded the more recent reviews here, as they’re oh so accurate. This “cheese” is absolutely TASTELESS. If you’re buying cheese, may you buy the real deal. THIS ain’t it! ❌

I love the taste of these, but they’re about an inch shorter than they used to be — same price as before! Fine that they’re smaller, but put that information clearly on the front of the package! This is deceptive and I’m glad the government is cracking down on it!!
