sE Electronics RF-X Microphone Reflection Filter

Even in the quietest rooms, a microphone picks up more than just voice—it hears reflections, echoes and background energy that can cloud the core of a recording. sE Electronics RF-X microphone reflection filter helps capture cleaner, more focused recordings by reducing room reflections at the source. Based on the design principles of the original Reflexion Filter Pro, it uses a four-layer acoustic structure and a lightweight frame to create a controlled recording environment around microphone. Whether ’re tracking vocals, guitars or other sources in a home or project studio, the RF-X isolation filter improves clarity and separation by limiting the influence of untreated room acoustics. Four-Layer Design for Balanced Frequency Control The heart of the RF-X is a four-layer acoustic filter made up of a vented composite outer panel, a wool fabric layer, an air gap and an inner acoustic foam layer. Working together, these materials help manage reflections across the full frequency spectrum rather than focusing only on highs or lows. This balanced approach reduces coloration and preserves the natural character of source, allowing recordings to retain detail and definition. Targeted Reflection Control for Cleaner Recordings Positioned behind the microphone, the RF-X mic reflection filter minimizes reflections that bounce back from walls and other surfaces. By focusing the microphone’s pickup on the direct sound, it helps capture more of the performance and less of the room. The result is a drier, more controlled recording that requires less corrective processing during mixing. Lightweight Build With Adjustable Mounting Control The RF-X is designed for easy setup in a variety of environments. Its lightweight construction and compact profile make it well suited for home studios, mobile rigs and space-limited setups. The adjustable mounting hardware allows to position the filter and microphone with precision, helping dial in the right balance for different sources. For artists and engineers working in untreated spaces, the sE Electronics RF-X microphone reflection filter provides a practical solution for achieving consistent, recording-ready results.
