Extremely disappointing quality

The strawberries looked acceptable at first, but after a simple 10-minute soak in baking soda and water, many of them revealed significant bruising, dark discoloration, and areas that appeared to be starting to deteriorate. Several berries were very soft and clearly past their prime.
