Glitches in game.
Games has areas in which you cannot move forward. I looked up the issues online and they are known glitches that Nintendo hasn’t fixed yet. It’s a remade game, been out for a few years and esp for the Mario Franchise at this price point this should not be an issue.

I guess this was an old game updated for the Nintendo Switch. While my spouse has fond memories of the old one and my child likes this one, I don’t like the play of it. But as a present and a game, my child enjoys it. They don’t play it as often as Wonders though, and I would recommend that one more.

Antiquated mechanics with some graphics not translating well to 3D
Levels are designed around you avoiding enemies like in the classic Mario games... except here you actually need to fight them to level up for bosses. And each battle by itself is generally not very difficult. As a result, there really isn't much challenge until the post-game. Also, the lack of voice acting (even grunts or noises in general) is glaring, most particularly in cutscenes.

It is a wonderfully updated version of the old SNES release. The music is fantastic and while same, modern, the combat style is the same and has two modes of game play for people who want to play it for the story (breezy) or would play the game as originally released. Pretty good introduction to RPGs as it handles most of the guesswork on where to dump stats as well
