I took up an offer by TaylorMade to receive a sample of the new TP5 and TP5X which arrived yesterday. My previous thoughts on the TP5 and 5X were not as long off the driver as a Pro V1 and V1x, or the Bridgestone Tour B RX or B XS that I play. They were a little longer on the irons so essentially a wash other than I didn't like being the short guy off the tee! C'mon man, we can all understand that. This new TP5X was pretty long. I don't have a launch monitor but I play the same courses and know historically how far I usually hit the driver. Irons were played to specific yardages measured by laser. I saw gains of at least 5-10 yards for the driver and 5 yards for the irons. Spin seemed reasonable. Height was easily controlled for the wind condition. Very straight. I hit a slight pull cut that ends up pretty straight and this ball was right there. I liked the alignment feature which lined up very well with the lines on my Odyssey 11 putter. What else can I say, I liked it.

Feels very good when hit. Goes a little further than tp5, but does feel much firmer.

The ball is long off the tee. The greenside performance is very good. Irons seen to get higher and land softer.

I have been using another brand and couldn’t break 80 until I used the TP5 ! Recently shot a 74 & a 79 and my handicap is looking great.

i was using the tour response ball with great results, but being in my senior years i felt i needed a little bit more distance. i switched to the TP5X and there is definitely more speed off the club. getting more distance along using the stripe TP5X for alignment is a win win.

The TaylorMade TP5 is awesome. Great distance and still has a soft feel.

Good distance, good iron feel, over all enjoyable ball to play. Played the ball a few rounds in different conditions from cool rain to warm and clear and even HOT & humid, it performed better than my game could give it credit for.

These are good balls. I prefer the softer feel of the TP5 but the x is still playable. It will jump off the club face. I am a half club longer with the TP5x but the ball is jumpy. If you are looking for a distance ball that will spin when needed then this is your ball.

The TP5x golf ball is probably the best ball on the market, it spins a lot consistently around the greens but doesnt spin too much off the tee
