Very easy and effective once you find the correct butane can
Frighteningly effective once I found a butane canister that fits. My first time with a small handheld torch, and I fired it up not knowing what to expect, thinking it would be fun for cooking and craft projects. It lights one handed, though I keep the other hand ready to adjust the flame since it throws a blue hot jet. Be careful until you get the feel for it. I have singed meringue peaks and browned steaks with it. Easy, effective, and fun. All of this would have been smoother if a compatible can came with the torch head, or if the listing said which cans fit. One star off for hunting down fuel.

Butane torch works well, and is adjustable.
Ignition is easy, the flame adjusts, and it is a handy thing for the kitchen or the craft room. Meringue was my first test and it browned quickly and neatly. Well made and durable, though you supply the fuel yourself.

Solid Kitchen Torch
Really impressed so far. It feels solid, lights reliably, and gives a strong adjustable flame for creme brulee, searing, and roasting peppers. Dialing it in is easy and it is comfortable to hold. Worth knowing that butane is not included, so buy a standard canister first. Great quality for the price and more premium than the cheap options.

Easy! So easy to use!
Several butane torches have passed through my kitchen, and useful as they are for sous vide, filling them is a chore so I avoided them. Not this one. Line up the notch on the can with the tab on the torch, twist, turn the knob, and light it. No more grey meat because I could not face wrestling with a torch. A genuine game changer and good value.

It's getting hot in here, lets grill some tasty toast.
Jokes aside, this runs far hotter than the little refillable torches that work like cigarette lighters. It toasts bread in five seconds and the flame is hot and wide, spreading heat without scorching. My favorite use is rescuing microwaved food, since a soggy hot dog turns crisp in seconds. Reverse searing steaks is easy and it adds flavor to vegetables. The flame is not so tight that it chars instantly, which some do without really heating.

Nice
Mounting takes no effort and it has worked on two brands of butane. It is not heavy, yet not so small you would lose it in a drawer, and the instructions are clear.

Fantastic for amateur home chefs who just need to use it for
Love this butane torch. I use it for creme brulees, bubbling cheese, and charred meat. Twist a can of fuel in, turn the dial toward plus, squeeze the trigger, and the dial sets the flame size. After ignition you do not hold the trigger, you just work and then dial it off. It browns quickly. Detached from the can it is small enough to store in a drawer once cooled, and cans twist on and off easily. Downsides are hard to name, though it takes a while to cool and I found no lock feature.

Excellent quality, easy to use
Techef made this easy to use, with a small learning curve in judging how much browning you want. The orange knob at the end releases gas, and opening it wide gives a much stronger flame. Opening it just until I could hear the gas gave a smaller, far more controllable flame. Never having used a torch like this, my first attempt is what you see, and I have new respect for chefs who brown meringue daily. The orange ring on the barrel sets the flame width. Sturdy kit for meringue, marshmallow, or bread, and light enough to handle even attached to the canister.

I See A Lot of Creme Brulee In My Future
Build is solid and it seems durable. Twist it onto a can, turn the dial, pull the trigger, and it has lit every time. Creme brulee obviously, plus extra char on roasts without overcooking and crisped edges on roasted vegetables. It will see plenty of use and the price seems fair.

So Easy to Use for First Time Users, Make Sure You Order the
Sous vide is our routine and I kept overcooking roasts while searing them in cast iron. My daughter in law suggested a chef's torch for the exterior so the inside stays right. She owns this brand and loves it, so I ordered one. New to butane torches, I did not know the can needs a spray paint style top with a mounting ring and an open notch. My candle lighter butane lacked that ring, so I ordered the right kind. Once it came I pulled the plastic top off, attached the torch to the mounting ring, set the flame to medium, pressed the trigger, and was searing. My first attempts went well and I wish I had found this sooner. Afterward I closed the valve and detached it for storage. Five stars for the construction, the ease of use, and the simple attachment.

Kitchen tool must have
Been putting this to work and it is already a favorite. The flame is strong and steady up to 2,200 degrees, suiting creme brulee, caramelized sugar, seared steaks, charred vegetables, and browned meringue. Control is smooth and precise, low for delicate jobs or open for high heat, and the anti flare feature keeps it stable with no surprise flare ups. The grip is comfortable even over a long session, and the made in Korea build inspires confidence. I have crisped tacos, burned herbs, and crusted steaks with it. Two things to know: butane is not included, and refilling takes practice, so go slowly the first time. It performs like a professional tool at a good price.

Made very well and is super easy to use -- Best one I've own
Owned a torch before this and this is leaps beyond it. The materials are strong, and adding fuel means popping the can on and twisting. The weight is decent so it does not sit top heavy. The flame adjusts from small to very large and the knob also cuts the flow. Swapping cans takes seconds, and I like the one click start, since it stays lit until you turn the knob off.

A nice specialty tool for the kitchen
Arrived without butane, appropriately enough, and it is a tool I had always wanted, picturing baked Alaska or a crisped chicken breast. It gives chicken skin exactly the crunch you want, and a crunchy crust on custard is already a favorite. A word of caution about where you torch: my husband, a retired welder who worked on commercial kitchen equipment, warned that vents above a stove can hold grease, so I keep well away from ours. Light, easy to use, and worth the price.

Professional quality kitchen torch!
Cooking is my hobby and this TECHEF torch makes me feel like a professional. Slightly intimidated at first, never having used one, I found the instructions clear and it feels safe used properly. In the first week I charred an unevenly baked pizza crust, took meringues to a perfect pale gold, and browned a casserole into something gourmet. Swapping canisters is simple and the small control takes you from a delicate crisp layer to a heavy char on steak. One of the most fun and useful things I own.

Easy to use, really strong flame!
Easily one of our favorites among the torches we have tried, mainly because it clips straight onto a butane can instead of needing filling. Refillable ones frustrated us, since you never know how much fuel is left and the flame weakens. This is far more convenient and the flame stays strong. The one thing to flag is can compatibility, since our Bernzomatic can has a nozzle that seems slightly too long and the torch will not lock in securely. That reads as a can issue, so we will try another brand.

Good quality, easy to use, strong flame
Steaks, salmon, and melted cheese on garlic bread have all gone through it. Very easy to use, it attaches conveniently to a can, and the flame is strong with no leaks. Build quality is solid and tightly put together.

Extremely Useful Addition to any Kitchen or Tool Kit
Professional grade and refillable, producing heat up to 2100 degrees for searing, caramelizing, and DIY jobs. It has piezoelectric ignition, a safety lock, an adjustable flame, and light construction that stows easily in a case or bag. A single fill lasts upwards of an hour and a half, and the 22mm nozzle gives a concentrated flame with a locking mechanism. It arrives empty, so a standard butane canister is needed, and the fill port sits on the bottom. Useful in any kitchen or tool kit.

Brings out your inner pyro
Their Korean BBQ grill pan has served my kitchen for over a year through countless family dinners, so a TECHEF culinary torch seemed worth a shot on that record alone. They clearly know kitchen gear whether it burns charcoal or butane. I never realized how much I needed a torch until I started torching everything. Pizza needing char? Done. Sous vide steak with no crust? Done. Marshmallows and cigars? Naturally. The flame is surprisingly powerful, and the control takes you from gentle creme brulee caramelization to searing a ribeye in thirty seconds. Ignition fires instantly and the design feels solid enough for a kitchen drawer. The 22mm nozzle gives excellent control and at 170 grams you can use it one handed without fatigue. Start conservatively with the flame unless you enjoy the smell of singed hair. At thirty dollars it is a good deal, so just remember to grab butane.

Powerful and reliable kitchen torch
Functionality is excellent across a range of kitchen jobs. The flame strength is impressive, searing steaks and caramelizing creme brulee without difficulty, and the solid build points to durability. The fuel capacity gives long continuous use and it is light enough to hold through a long session. The piezoelectric ignition works every time.

Professional-Feeling Torch That's Easy to Use at Home
Great addition to my kitchen and it worked straight out of the package. Easy to grip and light even with my small hands, and it feels solid. I hate my oven broiler, which sits low and awkward, so this is perfect for the tops of casseroles and it crisps pepperoni beautifully. The flame is adjustable and powerful, professional feeling yet easy at home. The fuel capacity is good, though more cans are on my list.
