About the Book

A blinding flash ... then darkness. Bria Ford and her three closest friends are stranded on a country highway in the middle of a November night. No phones. No car. No lights. They put their lives in the hands of handsome Jonah Page and his flinty sister, East, strangers who somehow know Bria better than she knows herself.

Book Synopsis

A blinding flash ... then darkness. Bria Ford and her three closest friends are stranded on a country highway in the middle of a November night. No phones. No car. No lights. Helpless and hundreds of miles from home, they put their lives in the hands of handsome Jonah Page and his flinty sister, East, strangers who somehow know Bria better than she knows herself. As the group bonds to adapt to a new, yet old, way of life, the secrets of Bria's past provide them with the means to survive the extremes of Mother Nature, and the even more frightening extremes of human nature.

Quietly suspenseful, The Light explores how the stories we tell ourselves shape the person we present to the world, and what happens to that person when the world falls away.

Review Quotes

KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!!! I could not put this book down and loved every dramatic page. The way Brown weaves together despair, hope, and faith is incredible. The book leaves you questioning your own "real self," in a remarkably beautiful way. I HIGHLY recommend this read!

I could not stop reading. The book has you captivated from the beginning. The author draws you in and you feel like you are part of the story. There is a hook at every chapter to keep you wanting to find out what happens next. You can't predict what will happen next and you don't want the story to end! Can not wait for book two.

This book pulled me into the storyline in a way I haven't had a book do in a long time. I did not want to put it down! I not only fell in love with the story and characters, but the way it challenged me to think about the question the author poses, "who do you become when the world falls away." You will find love, suspense, faith, adventure, darkness and light in the pages of the book. The author weaves it all together and more into a beautiful story.

What an amazing book to read!! I would recommend this to anyone! It is not very often you come across a book that keeps building on itself as each chapter goes by, I never encountered any boring spots and this is why I gave it a five star rating. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!!

This book is fantastic! I couldn't put it down. Once I finished, I immediately downloaded the second one. Very well written with such a rich story line. I highly recommend this to anyone.
