Description
About the Book
Popular Christian radio host and podcaster uses stories, humor, and fascinating cultural research to challenge us to get over ourselves and grasp the biblical truth that we aren't really "good people"--and that this is good news for all of us!Book Synopsis
"I'm not a good person."Seriously, who says that?
Practically everyone, from priests to prisoners, thinks of themselves as morally better than average. So why change our minds? What good could possibly come from admitting that most of us are far more self-righteous than righteous?
In this book, Brant Hansen makes an entertaining and insightful case that we can find great freedom in admitting we're not so wonderful after all. In his conversational, fun-to-read, and delightfully self-effacing style, Hansen draws from biblical insight and the work of everyone from esteemed social psychologists to comedians to show that the sooner we get over ourselves and admit the truth, the sooner we can
● improve relationships
● be better thinkers and listeners
● be someone that's fun to be around
● find the freedom to live a more lighthearted, fruitful, fun-loving life
Because the humble life is truly your best one.

"Most of the time, the truth is hard for us to hear. But when it comes with the good-natured humor and crazy-life antics of Brant Hansen, it is God's gift to our souls."--Kyle Idleman, senior pastor of Southeast Christian Church and author of Not a Fan and Don't Give Up

Not About Them
We cannot even begin to grasp what Jesus did on the cross. This book points out the truth about humans and our condition. It digs deeper into self righteousness and our human code. It also digs deeper into God’s grace. Reading Brant’s book will provide a conversation and a picture of Jesus many of us need to hear. It challenges us to look at ourselves and to love others without judgement. I loved each discussion and I hope you gain a new perspective as you dig into each chapter. Some of it is hilarious and some of it hits you with hard truth. Either way, I needed it and I believe we all can benefit from this perspective, whether we believe and seek God or not. I’m still chewing on parts of this book and I suspect they will stick with me for quite some time.
Definitely worth reading!
