Edible but too many calories compared to other protein bagel options

Tastes like any other protein bagel but with way more calories and a lot less fiber. Since the taste really wasn’t anything better, I will just stick with those other brands. The taste is pretty bland and the texture is meh. They do fine for healthier eating path but when I want a legit bagel I will just get a REAL bagel and stick with the other protein bagel brands for the less calories and added fiber in addition to the protein.

    Totally fine. Great for dieting.

Honestly confused why this is getting so many negative reviews. It is really just a very basic bland bagel. Does not taste off at all. Could be easily confused with a standard plain bagel from any old bagel shop. I eat them regularly because of the high protein and low calories and I jazz it up with toppings and it's great. If you are considering it give it a try it's really fine.

Tastes absolutely horrible, like a cardboard sheet got left in the rain and, once soggy, was stepped on a few times.

    Not good

These tasted terrible. They were dry, tasted like plastic or chemicals, had a dry and spongy texture. I have eaten low carb breads and tortillas for years. I have never found something so horrendous in my life. I ate a quarter of one half and threw the rest away, they were that bad.

    Must have before the gym.

Not dry or thick. So glad that there are protein bagels that I can grab a bag and consume throughout the week. 4 is enough for me some weeks, too much for me some weeks but during those weeks, I finish them before they go bad and it's never a struggle. I enjoy these with cream cheese, American cheese slices, Spam, or eggs... It's a buy again and again and again. It's a staple!

    NO

Practically inedible. The texture is horrific and the taste is so bad. Better off eating a real bagel and drinking a protein shake

    What's the difference?

To be honest I was skeptical but I decided to listen to the reviews that said give it a try. I have used half of one for the past for breakfast with cream cheese, spinach, egg, and avocado. They have been delicious. If I didn’t make it, I wouldn’t know that it was a different kind of bagel. I had no smell or taste difference either. I would buy again.

Not bad. They're just not white bread

I really enjoyed these. If you are more of a fan of the flavor of whole grain or whole wheat, and looking to up your protein, then these bagels are for you. They do have a "different" taste, but to me it leans towards whole wheat bread flavor. They are slightly more chewy than a regular plain bagel. Unlike normal bread, these don't hurt my stomach which is a plus. Don't know what else to say, but try em!

    Yum!

I almost didn’t try these because of the bad reviews. I’m honestly confused by them now that I have. To me, these tasted just like a normal plain bagel but maybe a tiny bit chewier which I didn’t mind. I had it with jalapeño cream cheese and it was delicious and kept me full for longer. I’m back now to grab another pack. I definitely recommend these! Wish they had the everything flavor available at my Target.

    Fantastic high protein product

Superior high protein bread item. People giving one star, I think, expect a high protein bread item to magically taste exactly like the most delicious regular bread item of their dreams. It doesn't work that way. There is always a tradeoff, and this product meets the challenge of balancing high protein with taste and quality better than most, if not all, without undesirable ingredients that cause stomach discomfort. I highly recommend these bagels!

    Not great

I was expecting it to not be great because it would be too good to be true to have a bread product that is high in protein and taste good, and I was right. I can't explain the taste, but it's just not good. I toasted it & covered it in cream cheese & could only eat half & threw the rest out. Bummer. There are clearly a few people who can handle the taste, but I think the majority of people will not. On the plus side, the texture isn't bad.

    Taste good to me

I was nervous to get these because of the reviews but I needed a different way to add protein to my diet so I gave them a shot. They’re delicious. Can’t tell much of a difference between a regular bagel.
