Great Book
This book is about family. Margaret who recently lost her husband. Mouse who adored her father, Lawrie who is a happy go lucky guy and his twin Tom, who feels like he was left behind as a child and now has to be the best in everything. Told in multiple POV, each character gets a chance to shine or not, in the pages of this book. The addition of Aunt Edith who seems to be orchestrating issues from the Great Beyond gives the book a real Southern bent. Secrets are exposed and the family is in crisis. Can they come together and repair damage done to the family from long ago? The writing was superb. You could HEAR the Pecan's dropping from the tree to the ground, The storms that let loose across the area made you feel like you were there. The mugginess of the late summer early fall in south Georgia was a living entity. I thoroughly enjoyed this book although it is one you want to savor, not rush through to the end.
