Book Synopsis
A new board book series focused on first phrases and friendly routines for babies and toddlers.
Join four toddlers and their families in this charming book of first phrases focused on getting ready, making and eating food, and cleaning up after dinner. Filled with simple, repeatable phrases like "too hot!", "just right!", "more please", and "thank you", little ones will love participating in the story and in their own family's special meal. Other titles in the series include: Toddler Talk: Let's Go.Review Quotes
Written in consultation with a speech and language therapist, books in the Toddler Talk series
are designed to encourage young children who have learned words to begin using and
interpreting them in common phrases. In this book, the communication between adults and
young children takes place in four families' kitchens and dining areas, where adults and older
children sit with a toddler in a high chair. Phrases in the text vary from a simple "Wash hands"
before the meal to the more complex "Uh-oh. Dirty floor" following a spill. This attractive board book is both useful and appealing.

Begin with the board books. Most of us do, after all. Now I'm sure you've your fair share of first word titles. Like tiny little dictionaries, they are. This series is a little different. They aren't first word books but first "phrase" books. Kind of a cool idea, right? And yes. Don't worry. There's definitely a mirror at the end.--Betsy Bird, School Library Journal
