About the Book

True Betrayal helps spouses wounded by sexual sin process grief in a safe, gospel-centered group setting and take wise steps toward healing and reengagement.

Book Synopsis

True Betrayal by counselor and pastor Brad Hambrick outlines a clear, compassionate, and biblical 9-step framework for processing and healing from your spouse's sexual infidelity.

Finding out about your spouse's sexual sin feels like a gut punch. In your overwhelming flood of emotions, you may feel like pretending like it never happened or you might think you need to take intense, immediate action. In the middle of your questions and pain, you need a safe, stable place to process what has happened and to take wise steps forward. Your spouse's sexual sin is not your fault. Grief is going to be a major part of your healing journey, and the Lord is walking with you as you face what's next.

This support group curriculum seeks to capture the gospel in slow motion and facilitates a safe environment for participants to grow together as they articulate their pain, grieve, and identify healthy ways to reengage with life and set realistic expectations for themselves and their spouse.

This in-depth resource offers churches and individuals a unique opportunity to respond to the experience of infidelity in a faith-filled and healing way. True Betrayal is a resource in the Church-Based Counseling series, built on the G4 model of subject-specific, lay-led counseling groups, designed to help churches create sustainable lay counseling ministries.

Review Quotes

"True Betrayal is one of the best guides I've encountered on navigating betrayal's pain. It offers down-to-earth strategies for seeking answers from the person who hurt you, clarifies how much to trust a spouse going forward, and presents the often-overlooked options you have after being betrayed. True Betrayal is an indispensable resource for clarity, answers, healing, and renewed strength."
Sam Hodges IV, President, DivorceCare

"When a person is betrayed by their spouse, they incur overwhelming hardship. They need attainable, practical guidance to navigate the complexities of their suffering. Brad Hambrick facilitates the healing process with insight, wisdom, concision, and compassion. The G4 model gives individuals flexibility to process their pain with a group or through individual counseling. These options will serve a variety of needs!"
Jenny Solomon, Cofounder, Solomon Soul Care and the Sentinel Institute; author of Reclaim Your Marriage

"You never asked for unfaithfulness to be the darkest valley in your marriage. But this is where you find yourself. You will face a myriad of weighty emotions and difficult decisions. Hambrick deftly pastors you through these emotions and decisions while honoring you. Slowly ponder his counsel. Take it to heart at each step in this arduous journey."

Brad puts words to the feelings we have all had during the healing process. This curriculum would be beneficial for anyone needing help working through the deep wounds caused by their spouse's sexual sin."

Brad Hambrick's unique approach takes both spouses on an individual journey to self-awareness and healing. If you're wondering, How did we get here? and What do we do next?, this may be just what God has in mind for you. Healing is possible and worth every effort it takes."
