I took a chance and cut it into two sections for what I needed. I knew what I was getting into and was ready to duct tape the cut ends if I needed too. I.must say im impressed! Yes I lost some of the fibers, shook them off and haven't lost any since Love it! No im not recommending one cuts it and maybe I just lucked out, but lucky I am then

Superb playground surface option
Using these under play equipment (over wood chips) gives a beautiful aesthetic feel while also giving the kids a soft landing. I have purchased several for our multiple playgrounds…and you don’t have to worry about mowing them! LOL
