Book Synopsis
In this highly illustrated sequel to Invisible that is at turns tender and humorous, J.J. must not only continue to navigate his Crohn's disease but also step up to support a family member following a devastating cancer diagnosis. For fans of Wink and Wonder. J.J. Sugar has been adapting to life with Norm, the physical manifestation of his invisible disability: Crohn's disease. With the rock-solid support of his family, his best friend, Hot Lips, and his trusty gassyologist, J.J. has hit a groove in managing his disease. Then he's thrown a curveball--a new doctor will be taking over his care. Meanwhile, J.J. gets a summer job at a local animation studio, and Norm makes a new friend named Seymour, an unknown disease with a hidden agenda to get close to the Sugar family. J.J.'s dad has begun to notice an odd taste in the back of his mouth and a small lump on the side of his neck. Eventually, it becomes clear that Seymour is a CANCER, and all this time, he's been tracking J.J.'s dad like an assassin. After J.J.'s dad is diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer, the Sugars must come together to navigate this new reality. Author-illustrator David Soren returns with another unflinching yet accessible tale inspired by his life.About the Author
