"Why We Stand" is a patriotic children's book written and illustrated by Army veteran, Dillon Krueger.

The story is about an American bald eagle taking his son on a journey across the country to teach him why we stand for the National Anthem. It explores some of the history of the Anthem with the War of 1812 and the Battle of Baltimore. The book also has illustrations of some of America's most famous national monuments!

Dillon Krueger served in the United States Army Infantry and was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2011. He wrote and illustrated "Why We Stand" for his kids to teach them what the National Anthem represents and the values of patriotism. He believes as American citizens we owe it to those brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation, and the gold star families, to stand proudly for the Nation Anthem.

It is Dillon's hope that other parents can find value in "Why We Stand" and our society will continue to raise our kids to be proud American citizens. That is why he started his own company Real Patriot Publishing! He intends to continue the mission of promoting patriotism by creating many more books.
