Opening sizes vary widely. Narrow bud vases can have openings around 1.2 inches, while large urn-style vases may have inner mouth openings of roughly 7.09 to 8.27 inches.

Hand-glazed ceramics and hand-blown glass typically show unique variations in glaze, color, size, and thickness, so each aqua vase can look slightly different and one-of-a-kind.

Weights range from about 0.5 pounds for small bud vases up to around 35 pounds for large floor urns. Some smaller pieces include a weighted base to improve stability.

It depends on the piece: some aqua vases are watertight and suitable for fresh-cut flowers, while others are water-porous or untested. Certain terra-cotta sets are noted as not intended to hold water or live plants.
