You can buy multicolored numeric candle packs that include digits 0–9 for composing ages, and separate metallic number sparklers sold as single-number sparklers (for example, an individual “5” sparkler) designed as sparkler-style celebration candles.

Number sparkler candles are intended for outdoor use. Hold the candle by its metal handle or pick, ignite the sparkler tip with a lighter, and allow it to burn out completely. If you need to extinguish it early, submerge the sparkler in water — do not attempt to blow it out.

Candles suitable for cupcakes are typically about 2.3 inches tall. Small numeric or multicolored candle styles are also compact and commonly used for cupcakes and muffins.
