Common materials include silicone, copper, aluminum alloy, carbon steel, ABS plastic and other metals. Many tools combine two or more of these materials (for example, a metal head with an ABS handle or silicone scraping edges).
Telescopic handles commonly extend roughly in the 42.7–54.3 inch range on some models. Other tools list overall heights around 55.5–55.6 inches or offer adjustable ranges that reach about that height, so expect most handles to extend to roughly 43–56 inches depending on the model.
They’re described for use on carpets and rugs and also work on upholstery and small soft surfaces (sofas, car seats). Many manual sweepers are shown gliding across hard floors as well—hardwood, laminate, and tile.
Copper-bristled rakes are often not recommended for delicate fabrics—avoid using them on wool, knitted fabrics, silk, and other fragile materials that could snag or be damaged.
Most rakes assemble quickly without tools and clean easily—wipe or rinse the head and dry before storing. Many models include a built-in hanging hole or hooks for wall storage; some come with included hooks for convenient hanging.
Multi-tools often fold or switch modes to serve as baseboard dusters, flat mops or surface cleaners, grout or gap brushes, and may include a metal carpet-rake side specifically for pet-hair removal.
