Small men's belts are made from a variety of materials, including nylon, leather, polyurethane, elastic, and faux leather.
Typical small men's belt widths are 38 mm (1.5 inches) and 35 mm (1 3/8 inches).
Adjustability is provided in several ways: evenly spaced sizing holes (commonly seven), twin/double holes along the strap on some work belts, and fully adjustable woven or stretch designs.
Some small belts are reversible two‑in‑one designs (often black/brown). To reverse the strap, lift or pull up on the buckle and twist the strap so the other side faces outward.
Check the size chart. A common recommendation is to use your pant size and go up one belt size (for example, if you wear size 33–34 pants, order a size 36 belt).
Belts designed for standard denim loops are typically 1.5 inches (38 mm) wide and are described as sliding easily through most denim loops.
